The More I Investigated… The Stranger My Photos Got

A photo of a heavily distorted face.

2019 was one of the darker years for my paranormal investigations, and I was diving into some heavy subjects. I was doing strange experiments at intense locations. Attempting to contact entities that were possibly inhuman. I was studying the Occult, and ritual magic. It was a year that led to me taking an extended break from the paranormal. This was due to a number of issues, not all related to the paranormal, but it felt like things were all tied together in ways too.

Over the course of the year, specifically around September - November, I was taking a lot of photos. Mostly with my phone, a digital camera, and a webcam. Especially during home sessions and at investigations. A number of these photos turned out heavily distorted, glitchy, and somewhat disturbing to look at.

Now there are many explanations for why photos turn out this way, and I'm not saying these photos are paranormal evidence by any means. I just want to share them here and continue to document strangeness in its many forms.

Throughout the past, some believed that photographs trapped or stole part of a person's soul. Some believe that a possessed person can appear "off" in photos. Eyes, posture, or facial structure may distort. Some believe camera's may "pick up" what the human eye misses.

These beliefs overlap heavily with pareidolia, lighting and lens distortion, and psychological expectation. Photos such as these are likely nothing, but they are still strange to observe. The fact that I was getting so many around the same period of time also seems unusual.

One bad photo means nothing. A pattern over time is harder to ignore. I find it interesting that it appears as if I have no nose in many of the photos, and in some I appear to have black eyes or no eyes. The twisted facial features bring some concern to me, even though they are likely nothing to worry about.

Whatever the case, I figured I would share them here. Whether there is a logical explanation for them or not, well we may never know the answer to that. I don't intend on going back to that level of investigating again to find out. I haven't noticed anything like this since, and honestly that's fine by me.

I hope you enjoyed these photos, and this post. I have a lot more that I'm working on that will be coming soon. Thanks to everyone for reading the blog, watching my videos, and following my work. Also, here is a bonus Photo Anomaly Log to experiment with on investigations.
