How To Hack the RadioShack 12-802 Into A Ghost Box

Image
This is a super easy ghost box hack you can do with minimal tools. All you will need is a Phillips head screwdriver and a cutting device such as a hobby blade or precision scissors. The radio we will be hacking is the RadioShack 12-802. It's a small handheld radio with its own built-in speaker. First, turn the radio over and remove the battery compartment so you can get to the screws. Once the screws are out, carefully pry the case apart. Take it slow and be gentle because you don't want to damage any wires or components inside the radio. Once it is opened up it should look like this: We are looking for a group of 6 wires that usually ends in a white wire. There should be a group of 6 wires next to a group of 2 wires. You want to clip the white wire. It's the last wire on the right of the group of 6. It should look like this once complete: After cutting the wire, put everything back together again. Pop in some batteries and test it out! I like this box a lot because it is ...

How To Hack the RadioShack 12-587 Into A Ghost Box

Image
Today we are going to look at some pictures of hacking a 12-587 into a ghost box. The video at the top of this post also goes over all of this, but I figured that pictures would help as well. The first thing to do is make sure you have a 12-587 and not a 1200-587, as this hack will not work on that version of this radio. Check the back of the radio to see which version you have.  Once you have the right version of the radio we are going to remove three screws. One at the top, and two in the battery compartment.  Carefully pry apart the case. I like to use a small flat head to aid in the splitting of the case. Be very gentle, as there are wires that could get damaged if you open it too rough. Once inside it should look similar to this: Remove the three screws holding the boards together and gently lift the top board off of the bottom board. There are wires attached, so once again be very gently. One its removed I like to face the speaker to the left like so: Once you have the ...

Paranormal Equipment - Checking Out My New Hultay Paranormal TR-604 Ghost Box

Got an exciting package in the mail! It was my Hultay Paranormal TR-604 Ghost Box! I've always wanted a Hultay box, and now I can finally say I am a proud owner of one. Be sure to check them out here:  Hultay Paranormal The box has a fully adjustable sweep speed unlike normal hacked boxes that only have one sweep speed. Steve Hultay hand tunes every box he makes to meet the requirements of the voltages. Here is a photo of the side of the box showing the sweep rate knob.  This is always a good feature to have, as it allows you to experiment with different sweep speeds in your sessions. I personally like a slower sweep speed, but I switch it up often to see what might help the spirits come through clearer.  The box runs on three D Cell Batteries, and one 9-Volt Battery for the sweep circuit. It does have a line out for headphones as well. In the video I run the box for a short period of time. I like the way it sounds and will figure out the best volume and distance from th...
