Today we are going to look at some pictures of hacking a 12-587 into a ghost box. The video at the top of this post also goes over all of this, but I figured that pictures would help as well. The first thing to do is make sure you have a 12-587 and not a 1200-587, as this hack will not work on that version of this radio. Check the back of the radio to see which version you have.  Once you have the right version of the radio we are going to remove three screws. One at the top, and two in the battery compartment.  Carefully pry apart the case. I like to use a small flat head to aid in the splitting of the case. Be very gentle, as there are wires that could get damaged if you open it too rough. Once inside it should look similar to this: Remove the three screws holding the boards together and gently lift the top board off of the bottom board. Here is a cool session from October 2023. I was in an old cemetery near Bessemer, Alabama performing a ghost box session with my Appydroid G Box. It's a short session, but some things about it stood out to me. Let's review it.  We start out with the word "Worship" being said. I get a lot of religious words like this in cemeteries.  I always find it interesting given the location, but words like this do come through often in home sessions as well.  The word "Here" is said, and I decide to set the box down on a small cinderblock wall. A voice comes through saying, "They grow this". I attempt to break a pesky thorn stalk, and my hand comes in view of the camera. Suddenly a voice says, "The hand." This made me wonder... were the spirits seeing what was happening through the camera? They mentioned "They grow this" as I sat the camera down in view of a lot of overgrown weeds and grass. 2019 was one of the darker years for my paranormal investigations, and I was diving into some heavy subjects. I was doing strange experiments at intense locations. Attempting to contact entities that were possibly inhuman. I was studying the Occult, and ritual magic. It was a year that led to me taking an extended break from the paranormal. This was due to a number of issues, not all related to the paranormal, but it felt like things were all tied together in ways too. Over the course of the year, specifically around September - November, I was taking a lot of photos. Mostly with my phone, a digital camera, and a webcam. Especially during home sessions and at investigations. A number of these photos turned out heavily distorted, glitchy, and somewhat disturbing to look at. "Get me set," the spirit box says as I begin to set the box down on the table. I didn't hear this response in real time. While reviewing this session, I knew right away it was going to be a good one. I was using my new Hultay Paranormal TR-604 Ghost Box, which had been getting some crazy responses so far. Soon after I got the box set and adjusted the camera to my liking, a voice comes through and says my name, "Alex". I hear this response real time, and answer back, "Yeah?" Then, a female voice comes through and says, "Clear". This has happened before at the beginning of another session with the Hultay box, and with a female voice as well. It's as if they like how "Clear" the box sounds.  The next string of words comes through very quick. "Gotta help me", "I got flashed up", "Zombies". Sometimes I like to do back-to-back sessions with different devices. It helps me test out my boxes but also yields some strange results to the responses that I get. In this specific video I use my Hultay Paranormal TR-604 Ghost box and my Appydroid G Box. Both performed quite well, and I'd like to go over some of what I recorded.  Box 1: Hultay Paranormal TR-604 Ghost Box The Hultay Box has not disappointed yet. It's my newest box, but already one of my favorites. It has a unique sound. I'm still getting the hang of recording it at the right levels for the clearest results. For this session I wanted to do a quick burst session and kept it short. My original plan was to use four different boxes, but I ran into a battery issue (low on AAA's) so I went with two instead. I get a lot of names during my ghost box sessions. Some come through once or twice, while others seem to stick around. Buddy is one of those that keeps coming back.  As far as I know, the first time I received the name Buddy in a session was in 2023. I recently started doing sessions again in 2026, and I'm getting the name Buddy more than ever before. I get it no matter what device I use, and sometimes it's very clear.  When asked for, Buddy often comes through and seems to answer questions. When Buddy is mentioned out loud, the session often reflects the questions asked. Buddy also seems to interact with the spirit Tina through the responses that I get on the ghost box.  In one instance of asking for Buddy I got the response, "He's in the back". When asked if they could bring him forward, I got the answer, "Maybe". These responses made me wonder. What did they mean by in the back? Where are they exactly?
